Gene Camozzi pitched for the Granat Bros. Jewelery team in the late teens and early twenties. The annually had top notch teams in the San Francisco Mid-Winter Leagues.
By the 1920s, semipro baseball had become popular throughout the country. The 20's and 30's were the golden age of semipro baseball. Almost every year, the San Mateo Blues were one of the best teams in Northern California.
