Highly touted Lundstrom Hatters fail to make dent in victory record set by San Mateo Blues; score 5 to 0

August 21, 1927 -The San Mateo Times, By Jerry

Before one of the largest crowds that has visited the City park for some time Genial Gene Camozzi, with errorless support, not only blanked the Lundstrum Hatters yesterday afternoon, but struck out seven players while he was allowing a total of four hits for the matinee. All of this he did without the slightest trouble and without turning a hair. Not for a minute during the game after the first inning was he in any danger of being scored on, but had the visitors completely at his mercy.
Same old tune

August 21, 1927 -From the scrap book

Making it the seventeenth consecutive win of the season the San Mateo Blues whitewashed the Lundstrom Hatters at San Mateo last Sunday by the score of 5 to 0. Camozzi pitched air-tight ball, allowing but four scattered hits and striking out seven of the visitors, without turning a hair. They now have a strangle hold on the championship of the bushes in this section of the state and it looks as though they would continue the season without losing another game as they have defeated the best teams procurable. They all look good until they come to San Mateo and after that they have to be reclassified.
