Blues make 22 hits and equal number of runs while San Bruno scores two in yesterday's tilt

The San Mateo Times, By Jerry With the grand stand and bleachers comfortably filled, but without the large band of followers expected from San Bruno, the San Mateo Blues walloped the team from the northern city at the San Mateo playground yesterday by a score of 2 to 22, the largest ever rolled up by the home team. Three pitchers, Dillon, Maugh and Kelly did all possible to stem the tide. The Blues as a whole batted .500 and every man scored from one to four runs. Simpson was the king of the swatters getting a home run,  a double and three singles out of six times up; he also scored three runs and stole a base. Bertram, Randazzo, Silva, Casey and Stoffel all fattened up their batting averages by going at a .600 gait yesterday. Sorriva gets .333, while Osborne and Camozzi did not do so well. Al Silva joined the home run class and Casey would have done the same if his feet had been a little faster.Theatre partyYesterday's game gives the Blues thirteen straight wins with a total of 16 won and 2 lost for the season, only one of the lost games having been played for the Spalding trophy, on which the Fitzmen now have a stranglehold.Manager Thomas Kane of the Regent Theatre has invited the team to be his guests at the showing of "Slide Kelly Slide" at the Regent tonight and it is expected the club will attend in a body. The Modesto Reds are on the card for next Sunday's matinee. The Modesto outfit, admittedly the strongest team to have visited San Mateo this year, has defeated most of the bush teams in the valley, but whether or not they can defeat Camozzi with faultless support is anybody's guess.
