The new look is pretty much finished. But the key to research is how you organize it. I realized that I really don't have a consistent structure. I need to make every section flow with the same structure. I'll have content sections: San Mateo Blues, Research Projects, Baseball Blog. In the "San Mateo Blues" content section it will be broken down into years. The years will have a checklist of games with simple stats, basically giving a running total of win/losses.

I decided to revamp the look. This new look is to help to accommodate full box scores. The previous site was just to narrow. It was my objective to also lighten up the overall feel. I'm also adding a "Recent Blog" sidebar. This is to separate the blog like entries from the rest of my research. Which is, Northern California Baseball from 1910-1940. This includes Pacific Coast League teams like the San Francisco Seals and the Oakland Oaks.
Please bare with me while I reorganize how the content flows...hopefully this will enable me to get more of my research posted. -- Ken

I'm happy Barry set the record yesterday. But darrn! Why couldn't he wait a day. I missed seeing history. I'm going to the game tonight. Not the first time I missed a historical baseball event. I went to the World Series game before the Earth Quake. That was a good one to miss. I was at Vida Blue's 200 win. Not the same prominence as a Home Run Record. Anyway, Go Giants!

California State League - 1935

In the world of baseball history the major leagues are king. Recent
years has shown an increase interest in the minor leagues. Especially,
leagues like the old Pacific Coast league that now peak the interest of
baseball historians. But all to often forgotten are the infinite number
of semi pro games played in the golden age of the game. So image my
surprise to see a ball from a game of the old semi pro California State
League show up on Ebay. The ball sold for around $45, but most on the
provenance that it was a Pacific Coast League used baseball. It was a
game used ball, but more likely from the game that was inscribe on it's
hide – Sept-15-1935 at San Mateo...Reds Won...8-to-6... This was game
two of the 1935 championship of the California State League. The San
Mateo Blues beat the Modesto Reds 15-to-3 in game one. The Reds tied
the series with this 8-to-6 win then captured the championship the
following week by defeating the San Mateo Blues 4-to-0. So who ever
purchased the ba;; may not even be aware of the games history, for all
they know they have a nice example of a vintage PCL baseball. The
losing pitcher in Game two and three was ex-PCL pitcher Pudgy Gould.
