One of the fastest diamonds in California bush circles will be the stamping grounds this baseball season of the San Mateo Blues, according to Herman Kroger, genial member of the club board of directors.

Based on a hard, fast foundation, grass that has been planted intermittently since the Seals invaded the local park to rained down the curtain on San Mateo baseball for 1927, has taken firm hold, has reached respectable proportions, and is practically ready for the bounds of the spheroid and a cut of the spike.

Low fence

A low fence of natural, scenic bushes will mark the boundary line and left field, and those folks who brought their chairs with them to take in the games comfortably situated will find it more convenient to watch the game standing up, or occupying seats in grandstand or bleachers.

The scoreboard will leave its headquarters in the large tree in center filled to grace the left guard and

Smooth slope
The hole field is one of smooth green turf, with a slight gradual slope into the outfield.

The infield has not yet been cut away and the grass covers the entire plot just now. However, final details will be finished on the park in plenty of time for the Blues when they opened their 1928 diamond activities in early April.
