March 26- The Drury Hatters by virtue of their victory over the Granat Brothers yesterday at Recreation won the San Francisco semi-pro baseball championship and the right to meet the Alameda Merchants, The Post-Enquirer League Champions, for the Northern California semi-pro title. The Hatters and the Granats put up a great struggle-the final score being 3-2.
Camozzi hurled a wonderful game for the Granats and if his mates had not errored four times he would have come out on the long end of the score. Tom Keating, with breaks coming his way, twirled a masterly game for the Hatters.
The Granats started things going in the first when Mulchahey, the first man up, tripled to left-center and romped home with the first tally of the game when Bauers let the ball get away from him. Burns bounced the ball to right field for a double in the same stanza.
The Hatters tied the count inthe fifth inning when Norton was safe at first on an error and went to second when the outfielders had a difficult time finding the ball. Bauers hit a hot one to Ollie Burns, the ball getting away from him and Norton came home with the Hatters’ first tally. They forged into the lead the same canto when they converted two hits int to runs, Shannihan and McKnew crossed the plate with the second and third runs.
The Granats went on a batting rampage in the sixth frame scoring one run on two hits. Sears opened the inning by uncorking the ball to left field for a one base clout and was out at second on a fielder’s choice, Gregor beating the ball to first when Johnny Kerr attempted to complete a double play. Cortade finished the day by walloping the ball to the clubhouse for a double. Gregore crossing the plate.
The Granats found Keating for two hits in the seventh inning but Tom was invincible in the pinches. Mulchy and Kelly singled but Tom disposed of Maderas, Burns and Sears in the order named.
