Gene Camozzi Pitches No-Hit, No Run GameNot a man reaches first on well known hurler in contest against Cleaners
Gene Camozzi, well-known semi-pro hurler, this year with the San Mateo baseball team, achieved that dream of all pitchers on Sunday, when he pitched a NO-HIT, NO-RUN game against the Liberty Cleaners, a semi-pro baseball outfit of this day. What is more to the point, NOT A PLAYER OF THE LIBERTY CLEANERS REACHED FIRST BASE.
That’s something that counts, whether it be in semi-pro baseball or in the professional ranks. Camozzi has been hurling in these parts for quite a time now, but he has never been in better form than on Sunday. The Cleaners were cleaned in the orthodox one-two-three fashion and the game took just 1 hour and 30 minutes.

It may also be of note that San Mateo won the battle by a 4-to-0 score, with Camozzi getting one of the runs.
Camozzi and his batte Ëry mate, Silva, are shortly to leave for a lumber community in Oregon, where they are hopeful of more successes of this sort. Score:

Camozzi in Hall of Fame
Camozzi, pitching sensational ball for San Mateo Sunday, shut out his opponents, allowing them neither a hit, run nor a man to reach first base. A feat of that kind, pulled in the majors, would call for head lines on the sporting page of every paper in the country. With their “ace” hurling scoreless ball, San Mateo had no difficulty in turning a win, thereby running their string of victories to seven straight.
