April 16— Gene Camozzi and George McKnew won the Northern California semi-pro championship for the Drury Hatters over the Alameda Merchants yesterday single handed by an 8-7 score. McKnew Lashed a single to left field in the ninth with the bases loaded, scoring Campbell and Camozzi. Camozzi with the score tied in the tenth inning, rifled the ball to left field, scoring Eddie Kenna.
The first game of the double-header went to the merchants, 8 to 7, and not until Bill Steengraffe disposed of Iredale in the ninth did the fans lose hope of the Hatters winning.
Pete Maloney trotted out Tom Keating in the first game and what the merchants did to Tom is in his short tenure in the box is now baseball history.
