Dear Kenneth Camozzi,
Received your welcome letter and will try to give you a little information in regards to Gene Camozzi.
I played on Mayrose Butter and Gene was on another semipro club. He was the best semipro pitcher but there wasn’t any leagues running then. So I went down to Merceed Calif. and played on their semipro club and got $20.00 a game. I was there 2 years and signed with Detroit Tigers in 1921. The Tigers sent me out for 2 years at Omaha and Albany and finally to Hollywood Stars where I played for 4 years at 2nd base. Then the Chicago White Sox drafted me and I played 3 years at 2nd base.
The Washington Senators drafted me from them and I played for 4 years with them get the 1933 Series with the Giants who beat us 4 out of 5 games.
I came out here and went to work in the studios until 19(85?) and since then I’ve taken it easy. I go to the races once in a while but don’t do any good.
I’m 92 years old and will be 93 November 26. I feel pretty good and hope I make it.
Johnny Kerr,
Gene Camozzi was a good pitcher and would play league ball but no league to sign him so he played semipro. I — — anymore of him so I don’t know if he is still alive.
Thank You for your interest,
Johnny Kerr
