1958 book "San Francisco Giants" by Joe King

Hats off to my favorite baseball team, the San Francisco Giants. It has been a long time coming. The Giants have had some great teams with Hall-of-fame players, but they never brought home the shinny trophy. The 2010 World Series Champions sounds good to this long-time fan. When Joe King wrote the book that introduced San Francisco fans to their new team in 1958, he would have never dreamed it would take 52 years to bring home the title

The final paragraph made no promise of glory for San Francisco fans. But one could feel that history was on our side. IN closing, Joe King wrote, “The Giants have had it good in many periods of their existence and have a habit of staging a spectacular when they do shake off the dust of second division. History can’t make a two-base hit; but history can repeat.”
