1928 Zeenut

In 1988 I wrote Gus Suhr and told him I was researching the old San Mateo Blues baseball team. He wrote me back. I never mentioned the Game in 1927 when the San Francisco Seals played the Blues. But Sixty years after the last batter was out he still recalled that he played right field because Ping Bodie played first base that day. When Gussie Suhr 18-years old, in 1924,  he played a few games for the San Mateo Blues. That was before he made good with the Pacific Coast League with the San Francisco Seals. It wasn’t long before he could be found on a Zeenut baseball card. Below is the letter from Gus Suhr. Note it looks like someone wrote it for him and he signed his name.
